JASANI STUDIO is a San Francisco-based creative practice that designs lifestyle environments for commerce and community. We use interior and architectural design to connect place and people.

Founder Ruju Jasani is an award-winning interior architect who works across retail, hospitality and residential. Ruju designs for social well-being as well as business outcomes. Her work comprises projects in the United States, Europe, China and India.

Raised in Bombay, Ruju moved to the United States to study interior architecture in San Francisco. She began her career in New York in the early 2000s at Mancini Duffy where she designed corporate headquarters for Fortune 500 companies. From large, commercial riverfront development in Shanghai with Frank Repas Architecture to luxury residential architecture and special events with BWArchitects, Ruju’s work bridges market sectors and encompasses a wide range of typology and scale. On returning to San Francisco in 2014, Ruju joined Gensler as a leader in the retail practice, guiding brands to establish market leadership and collaborating with real estate owners to create neighborhood destinations.

Ruju is a licensed designer, interior architect, writer and speaker. She was elected to the National Board of Directors for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) in late 2023. Ruju previously served as national Co-Chair of ASID’s Committee on Adaptive Living (CoAL) and on IIDA’s National Equity Council. She is a professional member of ICSC, ASID, IIDA, AIA and SEED.
