SITE: The penthouse is on the upper floor of a high rise condominium building constructed by Hines as part of a master-planned community adjacent to Chao Yang Park which is Beijing’s largest and most popular recreation area.

BRIEF: The primary residence was designed for a couple who relocated from New York to Beijing. The penthouse served as both a sanctuary and a place for entertaining their friends and family, equal parts home and hospitality.

DESIGN: Custom millwork and handcrafted paneling create an environment that is not only tailored to the client’s personal histories but also highlights local craftsmanship and Chinese traditions. Most of the furniture is custom designed with prototypes made locally while a few pieces are from the client’s personal collection. The interiors connect comfort with culture and present a home for international living.
