SITE: Thrive City, the new mixed use district evolving around Chase Center Arena, is a gathering space for office goers, basketball fans, visitors, and residents. The Gatehouse is a key part of the guest experience, acting as a gateway to the arena, grounding the open-air plaza, and connecting with Third Street.
BRIEF: The retail-as-a-service company wanted a prime destination store that is attractive to guests, complements the architectural features of the Gatehouse, and increases customer engagement with its products and services.
DESIGN: The customer journey tracks the circular footprint of the Gatehouse. With an open plan layout, custom fixtures, and seasonal merchandise, the design creates an interactive platform for trying and buying. The large glazed shopfront preserves maximal sight lines from showroom to street, forming a clear connection to the neighborhood.
